Virginia Ann (Moore) Wiseman, 94, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 1, 2018 in Latrobe PA. She was born April 30, 1924 in Columbus, a daughter of the late Ruth (Thompson) and Herbert Moore. Virginia was a graduate of Columbus Central High School. She served in the Navy (WAVES) in the administrative and logistics department in the shipyards at Newport News, VA during World War II. She was a member of the Avondale United Methodist Church for most of her life. She served in various capacities in the church, including secretary/treasurer for Sunday School classes, and was active in Church Women United. Virginia was a devoted, stay-at-home mother who also volunteered for school related organizations such as Parent Teacher Association and OSU Mother's Club. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, and collecting ornamental glass paperweights. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Wiseman; sister, Margaret (Moore) Schueneman; and granddaughter, Tamilyn Grimm. She is survived by her two children, Gary (Kathleen) Wiseman of Parker, CO and Dale (Sue) Wiseman of Greensburg, PA; grandchildren, Eric (Marissa) Wiseman of Aurora, CO, and Jamie (Raymond) Seech of Buckhannon, WV; and great-grandchildren, Renee and Joey Wiseman; Karac, Kody, Dane, and Alek Seech; and Emma Grimm. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs at Brookdale Assisted Living and Grane Hospice Care for their very special loving and compassionate care for Virginia. Friends may call 3-5 pm and 6-8 pm Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Crematory, 2693 West Broad St. Columbus where funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday, September 7, 2018 with Pastor Kevin Chambers officiating. Interment will be in Fernwood Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at https://alz.org or 225 N.
