Rebecca Oliver

Rebecca Elizabeth Hall Oliver, of Galloway, Ohio., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 103. Rebecca was born June 14, 1920 in Columbus, Ohio to Dwight and Flossie (Culp) Metzger. She retired from Columbus Public Schools as a secretary in 1972. Rebecca was a member of the Triangle Chapter #592, Order of Eastern Star (OES), American Legion Auxiliary #614 in Hilliard, Ohio and several senior centers. Preceded in death by, first husband, Franklin M. Hall, daughter, Deborah L. Duke, son in law, Ronald Gessel, second husband, Victor Oliver, step daughter, Kathie (John) Palmer, grandson, Russ Johnson, granddaughter, Dana Blank, step son in law, James Dale, beloved friend since second grade, Annie Goforth and special friend, Gill Millard. Rebecca leaves behind her beloved and devoted daughter, Kathleen Gessel, step daughter, Gaye Dale, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other family and friends. All will greatly miss this amazing lady who's been through a lot, didn't have a selfish bone in her body, demonstrated what unconditional love was all about and was adored by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The family will receive friends at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd., Friday, March 15, 2024 from 10 - 12 Noon where service will follow at 12 Noon. Briley Ritchason will officiate the service.  Inurnment at Green Lawn Cemetery on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 12 Noon.  In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd., Kanab, Utah, 84741.
