Lawrence McVay III

Lawrence (Larry) Neal McVay, Ill passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 17, 2024. Born September 8, 1958, at Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico during his father's service in the U.S. Navy. Larry was an active Boy Scout earning his Eagle Award. He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 1976 in Columbus, Ohio and then earned a degree in electronics from DeVry University. He followed in his father's footsteps in the U.S. Navy after graduation, where he was stationed in Florida at the Naval Nuclear School and at sea in the 1980's. Larry lived a quiet life, working for several years at Kroger grocery stores, managing the fuel service stations around Columbus Ohio, where he resided in his later years.

He is preceded in death by his longtime partner, Richard Weiser and mother, Carol Kirtley-McVay. He is survived by his father, Lawrence N. McVay, Jr., stepmother, Kathleen Carter-McVay, sister Deborah McVay Williams (John F. Williams, IV), brother Jeffrey McVay (Karen), nieces Megan Wise (Daniel), Dana McKinney (Vince Macy), nephews Nicolas McVay and Zachary McVay, Aunt Grace Kirtley, Uncle Robert Kirtley, cousins, many friends, and his two cats. Although he will be missed, Larry's family prays he has found peace in the arms of our Lord.
