Ronald Craven

Ron Craven, 73, of Columbus passed away on Aug 16, 2013 with his family by his side. He was born June 18, 1940 at Reese Station to Edward and Beulah Craven. He graduated from Hamilton Township in 1958, attended Franklin University and Ohio State. Ron married the love of his life, Barbara Wolford on Sep 9, 1961. He worked in automotive for over 30 years before working for his son and Top Ten Painting. Enjoyed boating, golfing, NASCAR and the last quarter of any ballgame.
He was a very active Mason and was a member of West Gate Lodge #623 (Past Master 2002 and 2010), Co-Chairman of I Care and Trustee; Scottish Rite; Aladdin Shrine - Registrar Unit, Hilltop Shrine Club Past President and Secretary; Order of Eastern Star Lorraine Chapter #1 - Worthy Patron, 17th Dist. Masonic Ambassador, Past Advisor and Page; OES Chapter # 26 Fort Collins CO; 46 Club Past President and served in several circles.
Ron is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Rhonda (Andrew) Lucas, Rebecca (Steven) Huffman, son Raymond (Donna) Craven, brother John Craven (Edna), sister Terry Schmidt, grand children: Jerald, Alexis, RJ Lucas, Morgan Huffman, Christopher Craven, many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by parents Edward, Beulah, and Phyllis Craven, sister Sandra Zaayer and Anna Rupe, and grandchildren: Justin, Jessica, and William Huffman.
Memorial Services will be held at Life in Christ Fellowship Church, 500 State Route 142 NE (Plain City Georgesville Road) West Jefferson, OH. Viewing Tues 5-8 pm with Masonic and Eastern Star services at 8. Funeral Wed 11:00 am with viewing before. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital, Aladdin Shrine Center, 3850 Stelzer Road, Columbus OH 43219.
He touched many lives and will be missed by all. Arrangements completed at Jerry Spears Funeral Home 2693 W. Broad St.
