Thomas Herman Wendel; age 64 of Beaver, Ohio passed on November 11, 2021. Born on December 18, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio to his parents Robert Herman and Doris “Fuller” Wendel. Survived by his parents, children Steven Lee Likens, Daniel Herman (Samantha) Wendel, and Taylor May (Justin) Wendel, Grandchildren Alessa Jean Likens, Bailey May Wendel, Mason, Gavin, TJ, Clover Fay, and Justin Timothy (Bubba) Hashman, unofficially adopted daughters Kate Koon, Annalita Robinson, Layla Dawson, and Kayla King, Aunts Mary-Ruth “Fuller” Beymer (Tom’s Godmother) and Barbara Ann “Wendel” Hollstiene, Uncle Donald Wendel, and a large group of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws, and a lifelong host of friends and extended second family; The McCarty’s. Preceded in death by wife Norma Jean “McCarty” Wendel (March 6, 2000), brother Steven Jay Wendel (November 7, 2013), Grandparents Herman and Sarah Marie “Goegelein” Wendel, William Harvey and Texie Pearl “Brown” Fuller, cousins Steve Hamilton, David R. Davies III, Bruce Hines, Judy “Fuller” Evans, and a large bunch of friends.
Tom grew up in Hilliard, Ohio, attended St. James Lutheran Church, Brown Township Elementary, and Hilliard Jr. and Sr. High School; where he graduated in 1976. He later attended Lincoln Tec in Indianapolis and graduated in 1977; shortly thereafter starting his 25-year career with Chesrown Olds and Haydocy Pontiac GMC. Tom had a kind personality, always willing to lend a helping hand, and had an even bigger heart. He liked to share his love of cars, Harley’s, traveling, camping, photography, and Lionel Trains with those around him. Services will be held at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 W. Broad St., Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 12-2 PM where memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to come show your love, support, and share memories
