Thomas D. Moore passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020. He was born January 19, 1939 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late John and Corilda Moore. He is also preceded in death by the love of his life Linda Dowler, Sisters Lucille Watson and Betty Ault. Brothers-in Law Bob Ault and Tom Wright. Margie Farris, and Nephews Little Ronnie Watson and Dave Ramsey. Survived by Daughter Kathy Moore (Michael Warner) and by Kathy’s siblings Jimmy Farris and Tina Hernandez of which along with Margie and their children he loved and was an important part in their life growing up. Grandchildren Paige and Michael Hageman, Byron “Timmy” Fields II, Sarah Brush, Madison Fields, Jake Warner, Lydia (Ben) Clay. Great Grandchildren Audrey and Evie Hageman. Tom is also survived by Linda’s Children Teresa (Tim) Jones, Karen (Roger) Jones, Jim (Myra) Dowler, and Butch (Kathy) Dowler. Grandchildren Kaydee (Donnie) Clever, Kyle Dowler, Zach Jones, Amy (Morgan) Brown, Jonathan Dowler, Megan (Brian) Powell, Colleen Dowler, and Hannah Dowler. Great Grandchildren Carter, Kylynn, Kaden and Harper. Also surviving are Sisters Mary (Hubert) Williams, Sharon Wright, and Brothers Bill (Flo) Moore, Milton (Barb) Moore and Kenny (Donna) Moore and Brother-in Law Ron Watson along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Tom was a 1957 graduate of Hamilton Township High School and had an incredible work ethic. He started his career when he was 15 years old with Big Bear Stores where he worked for 25 years as a Store Manager at German Village, Northern Lights, Lincoln Village and assisted in the opening of several new stores. Tom continued his career with IGA and finally retiring from Save-A-Lot Stores after a 45 year career in the grocery business. Tom would always tell you he was an “Old Grocery Man”. Lovingly referred to by his kid as “The Colonel” because he was The Boss until the day he died. Tom will always be remembered by all who loved him for the twinkle in his eye, his beautiful smile, his line of BS a mile long, as the prankster of the family, everyone’s favorite and his heart of gold. Tom’s Daughter Kathy would like to thank her Daughter Madison, Son Tim, Cousins Lori and Tanny, and Uncle Kenny (for being her Hero) for all the love and support they have shown during Tom’s final journey. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Jerry Spears Funeral Home 2693 W. Broad St. Cols, OH 43204, at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 12 noon and graveside services following at Obetz Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Michael Warner. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Hamilton Township Boosters in Tom’s name.
