Terri Maclam (Hickman) Obituary

Terri Maclam, 64, of Plain City, Ohio passed away in Columbus, Ohio at OhioHealth Hospice House on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

She was born in Columbus in 1961 to Versa Lilly Hickman and George E. Hickman, the youngest of their six children. She attended Walnut Ridge High School and enjoyed all the things kids loved then: bike riding, the Ohio State Fair, summers at Berwick Beach, neighborhood friends, muscle cars, and the Buckeyes.

She moved from Columbus, married and had a son Kyle Bemiller whom she dearly loved. She returned to Columbus and spent the rest of her years living in Grove City and Plain City where she worked in data entry and fulfillment services.

Terri met her loving husband Perry Maclam Jr., and they married on May 1, 2010. Terri and Perry enjoyed camping, being in the country, taking overnight trips and spending time together.

Terri’s son Kyle Bemiller and wife Erin meant the world to Terri, and she loved being part of their lives through visits, phone calls, texts, and Facebook and attended their wedding in Las Vegas.

Perry’s two sons, Duncan (Krystal) and Mike became part of the family when Terri and Perry wed and Terri loved sharing photos of Duncan’s children Jaxson and Savanna, her grandchildren.

After surviving a brain injury and cancer, she left the workforce and enjoyed taking care of feral cats and her indoor cats. She devoted her time, energy and resources into feeding and caring for abandoned cats and worked with several organizations and friends to catch, fix, and release them. Terri loved family, family gatherings and staying current on family events via social media. She was kind, generous, loved movies, and was an avid Aerosmith fan with dear friends around the world through the Aerosmith community.

Terri was preceded in death by her loving mother Versa Lilly Hickman, her brothers Mike, Rick and Doug Hickman, her father George and Sheryl Lynn Lee, her half-sister.

She is survived by her husband Perry Maclam Jr., son Kyle (Erin) Bemiller, sisters, Karen Allison and Patti (Don) Riordan with whom she was especially close, and Chris (Alice) Hickman, her half-brother. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.

Terri’s ashes will be scattered at a later date. If you would like to honor Terri’s life through a donation, please consider Cat Welfare Association, catwelfareassoc.org, Columbus, Ohio or your local cat rescue association.

"Sing with me, sing for the year / Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear / Sing with me, if it's just for today / Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away."   Dream On “Aerosmith”
