Stephen Brown Obituary

With heavy hearts yet profound gratitude, we honor the life of Stephen McCoy Brown, who was called home to be with God on November 23, 2025, at the age of 70. Stephen entered this world on September 5, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee, born to Robert S. Brown and the late Eliza Smith Brown. As the eldest of nine children, Stephen embraced responsibility early in life, nurturing a strong sense of leadership, compassion, and dedication that remained with him throughout his years.

A proud graduate of Hamilton High School’s Class of 1973, Stephen carried his drive and discipline into a distinguished 20-year career in the United States Navy, faithfully serving his country with honor, integrity, and unwavering commitment. After retiring from the Navy, Stephen continued his hard work and dedication at LiquiBox Corporation, where he built lasting relationships and ultimately retired in 2022.

Stephen’s life was richly blessed with family. In 1974, he married Earnestina Jones, and together they welcomed two children. In 1991, Stephen remarried and is survived by his devoted wife, Adriene R. Smith, who remained his steadfast partner through life’s joys and challenges.

Stephen leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his children: three daughters, Tracy L. Brown, Stephanie R. Brown, and Leanna S. Brown; and two sons, Command Master Chief Jonathan T. Brown (Trenise) and Micaiah A. Brown. His loving spirit continues through his seven grandchildren: Amber L. Lamberty, Nathan E. Lamberty, Ashley N. Brown, Jonathan T. Brown Jr., Jayce Brown, LeShaun D. Chatman, and Tayvion C. Chatman.

Stephen was deeply rooted in family, cherishing the bond he shared with his siblings. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Brown and Terrence Brown, and is survived by brothers Michael Brown (Gail), Floyd Brown (Regina), and Aaron Brown (Lenora); and by his three sisters, Alfredia Brown, Lovie Brown, and Sherrita Brown. He also leaves behind 10 nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and great-nephews, and a loving host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Stephen will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his dedication to family, his honorable service, and the warmth and wisdom he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives in the countless lives he touched, and the memories he leaves behind—memories filled with love, laughter, and strength.

May we find comfort in knowing that Stephen has found eternal peace, resting in God’s embrace. His journey on earth has ended, but his impact will live forever.

Well done, good and faithful servant.
