Scott Moon

Scott M. Moon, age 52, passed away on Tuesday, March 17th at his residence in Dublin, Ohio. Scott was born on May 2, 1973 in Cleveland, Ohio to Charles H. Moon & Edna (Levandowski) Moon.

He was a graduate of Maple Heights High School and The Ohio State University with a BSBA in Accounting, obtained his CPA & went on to earn his MBA from Franklin University. He was employed as Director of Finance for SPX Technologies.

Scott is survived by his beloved children, Emily & Nathan Moon & their mother, Melissa (Johnson) Moon, of Hilliard, OH.
He is also survived by his father, Charles, of Streetsboro, OH, one brother, Chuck (Beth) Moon, of Seven Hills, OH and a sister, Michele Barton-Verdi & her children, Ashleigh, Christopher & Joshua Barton, all of Mentor, OH.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Edna, in 2021.

Scott is also survived by his in-laws, Dave & Belinda Johnson, of Grove City, and was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Johnson.

Scott grew up fishing on Lake Erie and at his family’s cabin in Canada. He passed on his love for fishing to his son, Nathan. He also loved the game of football, which he played in high school & was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the OSU Buckeyes.
Scott was the king of “one-liners” and could always make you laugh, even if you bore the brunt of his joke.

Most of all, his two children were the light of his life & they will forever miss his presence in their lives. He enjoyed spending time with them on vacations to Florida and the Smoky Mountains or just shooting baskets or fishing from the pond behind their home.
His daughter, Emily will graduate from OSU in May, 2026, her Dad’s alma mater. Scott & Nathan spent several weekends together recently looking for a car for Nathan, who’d just obtained his driver’s license.

Scott attended Rock City Church, where he was baptized on 6/18/2021, along with his daughter, Emily.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd., Hilliard, OH 43026.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 26 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, followed by burial procession to Concord Cemetery, 6244 Hoover Rd, Grove City, OH, 43123.
