Sarah Daraja, age 32, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026, in Los Angeles, California. Born on September 25, 1993, Sarah was the cherished daughter of Angela Holmes and a radiant light in the lives of all who knew her. Her presence, creativity, and warmth will be deeply missed.
From a young age, Sarah expressed herself through the arts. She studied dance, musical theatre, and voice throughout high school years, embracing creativity as both her passion and purpose. Sarah later continued her education at Richmond Community College, where she studied and further developed her love for storytelling and visual expression.
Gifted and imaginative, Sarah had a deep love for music. She founded Daraja Productions, where she brought stories to life through music videos—providing vision, direction, and execution with originality and heart. Known for her artistic insight and collaborative spirit, Sarah worked with emerging artists while also pursuing her own original music. At the time of her passing, she was actively working on a music video that reflected her evolving artistry. She also worked as an actress, model, and seasonal Production Assistant with Netflix, experiences she embraced with enthusiasm and pride.
To support her growing creative business, Sarah worked as an enrollment specialist for nonprofit organizations in Philadelphia. In this role, she took pride in supporting underserved communities— a reflection of her passion for service.
Sarah loved dancing, laughing, drawing, singing, and spending meaningful time with those she cared about. She was undeniably charismatic with a remarkable ability to uplift everyone around her. Her laughter was contagious, her energy was magnetic, and her light was unforgettable. Sarah leaves behind a legacy of artistry and a reminder to follow one’s passion with courage and authenticity.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Daraja. Sarah leaves to cherish her memory her devoted mother, Angela Holmes; her brother, Malachi Daraja; her sister Angela Lee Johns; her grandparents, Joann and Paul Robinett; and a large, loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her spirit.
In lieu of flowers, potted plants are preferred as a living tribute, honoring Sarah’s love of growth, creativity, and sustainability.
There will be a gathering of friends and family Saturday, April 25 from 1-3pm, with memorial service at 3pm at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Road. Funeral repast following memorial at 4pm (light food and beverages).
