Sandra McMeekin

‍Sandra "Sandy" Lenox McMeekin, 81, passed away from Alzheimer’s
disease on July 25, 2025. Born on November 19, 1943, in Columbus,
Sandy dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her
husband Richard “Dick” McMeekin, and their daughters, Amy
McMeekin Christensen and Angie McMeekin McKinney.
Sandy's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She
loved taking care of her husband and daughters. She enjoyed sewing
and decorating her home for the holidays. Once her daughters reached
adulthood, Sandy embraced a new career in After School Care at
Evening Street Elementary. She loved planning crafts and activities for
the children and eventually retired, after 20 years of service, so she
could spend more time with her husband and grandchildren.
Sandy was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard “Dick”
McMeekin. Sandy and Dick were high school sweethearts and were
married on August 26, 1962. She is reunited in heaven with her
parents, brothers and husband. Sandy is survived by her children Amy
and Angie (Magnus), and her grandchildren Abby, Blake, Malachi and
Livi. A celebration of Sandy's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of
flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
