Rodney Swinney

Rodney Ray Swinney, age 64, of Hilliard, OH., passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was a retired construction foreman. Rodney loved his family very much and always enjoyed watching all of his grandchildren's games. He coached youth sports for many years and was known for rebuilding and renovating fields so kids always had a place to play. He was a huge fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and The Dallas Cowboys and he was also known to love playing and being very good at Jeopardy.  Preceded in death by, parents, Kenneth and Betty Swinney, sisters, Karen Holman and Sheri Cain. Survived by, the mother of his children, Sue Swinney, children, Brandy Swinney, Rodney Swinney II and Dawn Ann (Chad) Koehler, grandchildren, Dajah, Dylan, Demi, Carson and C.J., brother, Kevin (Lucinda) Swinney, nephews, Josh (Maria) Smith, Zac Swinney, Schon (Nicole) Holman and Joshua Holman, numerous other family and friends. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd., Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5-6:30 PM where service will follow at 6:30 PM. Pastor David Bergunzi officiating.
