Ricardo Mercado-Garcia

Ricardo Mercado Garcia, age 32, tragically passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021.

Preceded in death by nephew Jose Guadalupe. Survived by parents, Jose and Rosa Mercado Garcia; brothers Sayonara (Javier), Cesar (Candelaria), Arnulfo (Maria Elena), Juan (Savannah), Manuel (Karla) and sister, Carolina (Diego),  nieces and nephews, Joshua, Giovanni, Alexander, Emiliano, Victor, Mateo, Cesar, Crystal, Sophia, Rosa, Esmeralda, Jose and Dorian; girlfriend Ruby; second father Gregory Hart and his children: Taylor, Lee and Michael; second mother Chris (Durk) Reese; close friends Critter, Juan, Carlos, Little Chris, Nate, Little Zach, Javier, Mauricio, Tereso, Efrain, Edgar, Adan, Big Carlos, Hector “El Indio”, Fellín, Goner, Luis “Papas” and numerous other friends and family. The list could go on forever.

During the week, Ricardo worked hard alongside his brothers as a skilled and talented carpenter, painter, remodeler, tiler, and handyman of all trades.  There wasn’t a job that he couldn’t do, wouldn’t learn or take on. He was dedicated and passionate about his work and took pride in doing it to perfection.  He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. During the weekends on his down time, Ricardo loved to have fun with his many friends and spend quality time with his girlfriend, Ruby. He loved the night life, concerts, dancing, rodeos, lowriders, carne asadas with family. Ricardo truly lived his life to the fullest. He lived by the words of his good friend “El Indio”. “Vive la vida porque quien te garantiza que manana vas a despertar?” which translates to “Live your life because who can guarantee that tomorrow you will wake?” 

Friends and family may join us at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd., Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 2-7 PM. Service will begin at 4 PM and a musical group will follow. We plan to give Ricardo the best celebration of life party and farewell that he deserves before returning to his homeland Ojocaliente, Zacatecas, Mexico. The family is requesting donations be made to help with funeral expenses as the transfer to Mexico to his final resting place is quite costly.
