Perry Michael Conrardy, a professional mechanical engineer who designed HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems in Columbus, OH, and across the U.S., passed away peacefully Saturday, October 13, with family at his side, after a long illness. An entrepreneur, he owned and operated Progressive Consulting (PC) Engineers in Columbus for 18 years. Previously he held leadership positions, including vice president, at other Columbus area engineering firms and was licensed in 35 states during his career. His design work influenced commercial, governmental and residential spaces, impacting people across numerous industries, including but not limited to medical facilities, restaurants, business offices, military spaces, and individual homes. Mr. Conrardy was the beloved husband of Patricia Gorman Conrardy of Columbus; and a beloved son of the late Walter and Joan Conrardy of Hillsboro, OH. He is survived by father-in-law, Roger Gorman Jr. of Columbus; siblings Steve Conrardy of Cincinnati, OH; Tom Conrardy of Tallahassee, FLA; Carol (Craig) Russell of Crestview, KY; Betty (John) Minnich of Cincinnati; Chris Conrardy of Columbus; Steve (Alicia) Gorman of Delaware, OH; Sue (Scott) Brown of Philadelphia, PA; Janet (Mark) Zappe of Gahanna, OH; Mary (Paul) Shaffer of Columbus; nephews Spencer Ream, Casey Ream, Cassidy Brown, Zach Shaffer; Quinten Zappe; Mason Gorman; and nieces Heather Clifton, Lauren Zappe, Claire Brown, Megan Clifton, Sarah Clifton, Audrey Brown, and Piper Gorman. He was preceded in death by nephews Dustin Barton and Christian Ream. Mr. Conrardy graduated from The Ohio State University with a master's degree in mechanical engineering and bachelor's degrees in both math and mechanical engineering. He was a member of the American Society of Professional Engineers, an Eagle Scout, and a Shawnee High School (Springfield, OH) graduate. In addition to family and friends, he loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, all sports, farming, festivals, and visiting bucolic Amish countrysides. He is kept close at heart by many.
