Michael Parker Obituary

Michael (Mike) J Parker (Pottkotter), age 75, passed away in Columbus, Ohio on November 28, 2025. He was born in Celina, Ohio on April 16, 1950. Army Veteran, served in Vietnam. He was a retired independent salesman, having sold for K.E.M, Testron International and Detco.

Mike so enjoyed making sure all the vehicles were "shining", with his meticulous work washing and waxing. No soap, just water. Then he would finish off with RainX. Warning "Now don't use your wipers!" Cleanest vehicles around!

He enjoyed doing service work for others. Whether someone needed an interior or exterior paint job, a 50-foot trench dug, or a birdhouse installed, he was there. Never seeking recognition, just happy he could help.

Mike was a proud and extremely adoring grandfather (PawPaw). He would brag about his two cherished grandsons to whomever he could. They will always remain the " 'Ol great one's"! They are "winners". He would make sure they knew it too. Constantly reassuring them of how smart they are, and how very much he loved them.

Mike was the kind of father who would never leave his child's side. Through all the good, the bad, and the ugly, he remained. Advising on the next best steps. Giving, loving, and strong. If he could help, he would, always.

He was a wonderful, long-time friend to many. He found himself at home among them. He considered himself a lucky man to have shared those friendships throughout his lifetime.

Preceded in death by parents:  Vincent and Adeline Pottkotter; siblings; Joan, Larry, James, Susan and Karen.

Survived by children: Anthony (Katrine), and Elizabeth Parker; grandsons: Caleb (12), and Christopher (6); sister: Joyce.

Service will be held on Saturday December 13th at 1pm at Hilliard Church of Christ, in the chapel. 4300 Avery Rd. Hilliard, Ohio 43206.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike's memory can be made to Vietnam Veterans of America at https://vva.org/
