Luba Maneff Obituary

Luba Maneff, age 100, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026. She was born on June 26, 1926, in Gavato, Macedonia.

Luba was preceded in death by her parents, Petra Roteff and Mita Roteff; her brother, Jim Roteff; her sister, Menka (Steve) Speroff; and her beloved husband of 50 years, Carl Maneff.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Pete (Lila) Maneff; her daughter, Jenny (Nick) Carter; her grandchildren, Andy (Leslie) Maneff, Angie (Cary) Crego, Eric (Jennifer) Carter, Alex Carter, Melissa Levendoski, and Michaela Levendoski; her great-grandchildren, Elliott and Avery Maneff, Payton, Colbie, and Welles Crego, Abi Carter, and Cole Morrow; many nieces and nephews, as well as extended family members and dear friends. She was especially grateful to have shared such a long, healthy, and fulfilling life with those she loved.

Luba was a kind, generous, and hardworking woman who always put her family first. In 1958, she and her husband, Carl, took a courageous leap of faith and immigrated to Columbus, Ohio, in search of a better future for their family. Determined to build a new life, Luba taught herself to read, write, and speak English while raising her family. Despite having only a fourth-grade education, she began working as a seamstress, demonstrating remarkable perseverance, resilience, and strength.

Beyond her strength and determination, Luba will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, infectious smile, and adventurous spirit. She was always willing to join in the fun—whether it was trying something new, sharing a laugh, or making cherished memories with her family. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she treasured every opportunity to celebrate life's moments with them. Her warmth, laughter, and loving presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Luba leaves behind a legacy of courage, kindness, and unconditional love that will continue to inspire generations to come.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff at Abbington of Powell and Capri Gardens Nursing Center for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided to Luba over the years.
