Juanita Steele (Greene), 99, passed away peacefully, leaving a legacy of faith, family, and quiet strength.
Born in Logan, Ohio, Juanita moved to Columbus in the early 1940s, where she spent the rest of her life. She retired from Prudential Insurance after many years of dedicated service.
Juanita was a devoted member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 75 years and a longtime member of Columbia Heights United Methodist Church, where she remained active for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Electa Greene; her sister, Genevieve (Cliff) Courter; and her grandson, Joseph Mahoney Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Coni Mahoney; granddaughter, Jill Mahoney; great-grandsons, Joey (Macey) Mahoney and Blake (Hayley) Mahoney; great-great-granddaughters, Willow and Lillian; nephew, Rick (Jean) Courter; great-nephews, Christopher (Jen) Courter and Casey (Sally) Courter; great-niece, Kenzie Courter; and many other family and friends.
The family extends sincere thanks to the staff of National Church Residences and Hospice Care 360 for their compassion and care.
