Joseph Allen Fleming, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in Cantonment, FL. A proud Veteran of The United States Navy, he was a retired Command Master Chief, serving for 22 years. Member of the elite HA (L) 3 United States Navy Seawolves, a search and rescue operation. Member VFW #3441. He loved to farm and garden at his 100 acre farm in West Virginia, and he was also an avid hunter. Joe was also a former Golden Glove boxer in his younger years. Preceded in death by, parents, Frederick and Martha Fleming, sisters, Sue Higgenbotham and Perry Penner, brothers, Frederick Jr., Richard, Keith and Paul, stepson, Robert Lanning, stepdaughter, Vicky Lanning. Survived by, children, Timothy Lanning, Susan (Richard) Boone, Durward (Rhonda) Fleming and Frederick (Lisa) Fleming, brother, Bernard (Pam) Fleming, sister, Virginia (Eugene) Holstein, numerous grandchildren. great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Thursday, March 14, 2024 from 4-7 PM where service will be held 11:30 AM Friday, March 15, 2024. Rev. Austin Paparella officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
