Janice Margaret (Wilkinson) Conway, age 71, passed away December, 26th of 2024 at Monterey Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 3rd, 1953 to Hilma Jean (Armentrout) and Russell Wilkinson. Her birth place was in Paris, France where her father was stationed during his military service.
Jan was the only daughter in her family, a role that gave her a special bond with her parents and 6 brothers. In her younger years she was given the nick-name “Big Red” for her fiery red hair that perfectly matched her big personality.
During her teen years she caught the eye of her neighbor, James (Jimmy) Conway Jr. and the two would marry on May 21st, 1977. There were many ups and downs in their shared life but they stuck together through it all.
Throughout her life Jan was a fan of Elvis Presley; she loved his music and movies. Jan was loving, fun, easy to be with and had the best laugh.
Jan retired from Columbus CIty School district where she started in 1982 as a cafeteria worker and earned an associates degree and moved to the payroll department where she retired in 2016. Jan was highly intelligent and could have pursued any path, however her heart was devoted to her family. Her 3 children and 5 grandchildren were her whole world and she supported them in every possible way. Her home became a gathering place for family and friends filled with laughter, fun, and music as well as delicious food Jan had prepared. She made everyone feel welcomed.
Jan was deeply loved by her family and friends and all who knew her. She will be missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband James (Jimmy) T Conway Jr, her son James T Conway III, her daughter Jennifer (Jeramee) Hudson, and Son Jeffrey (Katie) Conway. Her 5 grandchildren James T Conway IV, Halle Conway, Carson T Conway, Jameson T Conway, Calvin J Conway. Brothers: Howard (Glenda) Wilkinson, Richard (Sharon) Wilkinson, Randal (Barbara) Wilkinson, Sister-in-law Cathy Wadsworth Wilkinson.
