James "Jim" E Barber

James E. Barber, age 78, passed away July 23, 2025 at Doctors Hospital. He was a graduate of West High School class of 1964. Member of the VFW and the American Legion. He was a former proud Marine and on the Columbus Veterans Beneficial Board, he played a big part in helping with the Armed Forces Day Ride. Retired from General Motors. Jim adored his family and friends. He would do anything for them.

Preceded in death by parents, Emerson and Reba Barber; wife, Connie Barber; son, Kevin Barber and siblings: John Hofmann, Bonnie Nix, Betty McGuirk and Larry Barber.

Survived by daughter, Kim (Dave) Hetterscheidt; grandkids: Kailey Hetterscheidt and Cody (Jada) Hetterscheidt; many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

There will be a gathering of friends and family Thursday, July 31 from 2-5pm at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 West Broad St.
