It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Lazroff, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and husband, who passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026.
Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to Jack and Frances Lazroff, both of whom preceded him in death.
Jim was the devoted husband of Kathryn Lazroff, whom he married in 1976. Kathy passed away in 2023, and Jim’s family takes comfort in knowing they are reunited once again after 46 years of marriage.
Jim was a loving father to Steve, Kevin (Kara), Mike (Taryn), and Steve Hutkai (Shannon), and a proud grandfather to Ellie, Connor, Tenley, Alex, Talia, Jack, and Sam, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his brother, Gary (Cheryl).
Jim was a retired business executive who spent 50 years with the same company, building a long and steady career marked by dedication, leadership, and a strong commitment to those he worked with. He held various management roles throughout his career and was known for his loyalty, professionalism, and memorable storytelling.
Jim was a graduate of John Marshall High School and Cleveland State University.
Above all else, Jim loved his family. He was also a lifelong fan of Ohio State football and Cleveland sports, enjoying games and seasons shared with those he loved.
A private service for immediate family will be held on January 9th at Jerry Spears Funeral Home in Hilliard, followed by interment at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family appreciates the love and support of friends during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jim’s memory to Capital City Hospice, 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive, Suite 170, Columbus, OH 43231.
Jim’s family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace.
