James "Mike" Dean

James “Mike” Dean passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 23, 2026, at the age of 69. Always a devoted husband and proud “#1 Dad Mike,” he loved his wife, Tammy; daughter Keisha (Shawn); son Hunter (Kaitlin); and grandchildren Emily, Max, Steven, and Gabriel very much. James also leaves behind a large extended family who will cherish his memory, including brothers Dempsey (Janine), Greg, and Tim (Charyl); sisters-in-law Betty and Sonja; brother-in-law Fred; and many nephews; nieces; cousins; and friends. Mike will be greeted in Heaven by his parents, Murrel and Gladys; brother Joe; sisters Gloria, Maxie, and Shelia; brothers-in-law Gene and Ken; sister-in-law Sheri; mother-in-law, Marie; and grandson Gabriel. Mike retired from Mars Petcare in Columbus, where he spent many years working hard and taking pride in providing for his family. Mike was an amazing dad, father-in-law, and Papaw. Mike and Tammy were married for over 44 years, and they enjoyed watching Christmas movies and taking many trips to Florida, Kentucky, and Tennessee together. Mike was always willing to help out family and friends, and we will all miss him dearly.
