J. Royce Groce

J. Royce Groce, age 51, passed away, suddenly, on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Royce was born in Louisville, Kentucky.  He was a huge fan of The Kentucky Derby, as well as The Dallas Cowboys. After many years of medical school, he was a longtime gastroenterologist in Columbus, Ohio. Royce was a practicing Catholic, attending numerous churches in the area. He was an avid ballroom dancer, meeting his wife there, and it was something they enjoyed doing even after they met. Preceded in death by, father, Wendell Groce, mother-in-law, Luanne Janusz. Survived by, wife, Chelsea, mother, Janice Groce, sister, Wendy (Brent) Groce-Smith, father-in-law, Ted Janusz, sisters-in-law, Allison (Nicholas) Rossetti and Heidi (Kevin) Ramirez, brother-in-law, Stephen (Bethany) Janusz, nieces and nephews, Declan, Everleigh, Francesca, Lidia, Rocco, Paige, Daphne, Oliver, Cecelia, Elizabeth, and Catherine, and numerous other family members and friends.
