Harriette A. Jones, age 93, passed away on July 3, 2026 at Ohio Living Sarah Moore, Delaware, Ohio.
Harriette was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on July 22, 1933, was the only child born to Doris Agnes McNally Drapiewski and Henry Stanley Drapiewski. Growing up and getting married in Cleveland, she was very active within the deaf community due to her parents being deaf and with the Methodist church in her community. Once she started a family, she moved to Florida, but when she found herself as a single parent, eventually she settled in Santa Monica, California, for 30 years, where she raised her 2 children. Once her children were grown and had families of their own, she moved back to Columbus, Ohio, where she resided at Columbus Colony (A deaf community) with her mother. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sharon Lynn Jones, and her son, Jeffery Daniel Jones. Along with their children, her Granddaughter and best friend, Sharon’s daughter - Chelsey-Madison Jennifer Jones and her long-time partner Craig Wells; and Jeffery’s daughters - Her granddaughters Jessica Danielle Jones Gsell and her husband Kameron and Jamie Lynn Jones, along with Sandra Carnes Jones, Jeffery’s wife. Zachary Anthony Jones, Sharon’s son, who passed May 2nd, 2017, will be opening heaven’s gate for her when she arrives, and there they will fly to the moon and back together.
Those of us who knew her, family, friends, and her many cousins, will desperately miss her smile, laughter, her strength and charm, and the twinkle of her Irish blue eyes. Her artwork will live on; her stories are still yet to be told, and the love she gave to everyone she met will always live on in our hearts!
Harriette’s final resting place will happen in the fall (Her favorite season), and her ashes will be placed under a tree, looking out at Lake Erie, where her father was placed.

“Don’t cry for me she said... I’m where I want to be... I am free...
I have so many memories to take with me... So much love, laughter and joy...
It was a life worth living, and I’ve been blessed by you all:
My family, the friends I made along the way, and the experiences life gave me...
It was a wonderful ride... Oh! What stories I shall tell!
Bless all of those I leave behind, as you will always stay in my heart and mind...
And remember... “Smiles and laughter last forever; tears are always wiped away”...
Remembering all of you always! Thank you for being part of my journey!
Don’t cry for me she said... I’m where I want to be... I am free!”
