Obituary

George "Skip" Porter, age 60, passed away November 20, 2022 at his Columbus residence. Skip was born in Williamson, West Virginia and was an honorably discharged US Army veteran and recipient of the Army Service Ribbon, Marksman and Army Achievement Medal. He was employed with TGM Communities. He got nickname when he was learning to crawl, because he moved in a manner that looked like he was skipping instead of crawling, therefore he was nicknamed "Skippy" which later was shortened to "Skip". Preceded in death by parents, Ruth Browning Wilcox and Albert Porter; oldest sister, Polly Pack and brother, Garland Pack. Survived by sisters: Cathy (Jeffrey) Selbe and Margaret (Roger Johnson) Browning; partner, Latanya Kessack; 13 nieces and nephews along with many friends. Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Crematory 2693 W. Broad St Sunday 2-4 P.M.
