Georganna Edwards Harvey, peacefully passed away from complications associated with Scleroderma on May 3, 2025 under hospice care in her home at The Avalon of Lewis Center in Ohio; she was 76. She was the older of two children born to George Edwards (1922-2014) and Antonetta Edwards (1924-2015), in Everett, Massachusetts on June 18, 1948. Georganna devoted herself to being the best mom to her daughters Anne Marie Harvey, Danielle Harvey Irwin (Ben), and Colleen Harvey Hanrahan; and Mema to her four grandchildren, Max Fondren (20), Hunter Irwin (10), Aaron Hanrahan (21), and Finn Hanrahan (10). She was married and divorced, gaining a loving extended family who supported her until her final days. Georganna was an exemplary mother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. Food, her Italian love language, scented her home regularly with delicious aromas, and led to one of her favorite vacations to a cooking school in Tuscany. Her love of roller coasters and enjoyment skydiving and parasailing hinted at her adventurous soul, despite being wrapped in the grace and good manners she learned in elocution school as a youth. A graduate of Nazareth Academy High School in Wakefield, MA, she attended Boston State (UMass Boston), and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was a primary school teacher and ended her career as a national consultant at a textbook publishing firm called Zaner Bloser, whose employees considered her a national treasure as she excelled at teaching teachers, judging the National Handwriting Contest, making presentations to state committees and contributing to content of the Handwriting Program. In addition to her birthplace, Georganna lived in New Hampshire (Deering and Manchester), Florida (Fleming Island), and Ohio (Dublin and Lewis Center).
