Dorn Hayes

Dorn Kolette Hayes was born on October 22nd, 1961 in Manhattan, NY.  The lord called her home on July 3rd, 2025.  She is survived by her son, Hubert Hayes II, her two daughters, Charyce and Sonsarae Cobbs, oldest brother, Kenneth Hayes, her sister Karen Hayes, her youngest brother Daniel Hayes, and her two grandchildren, Trey and Lola Hayes. 

Dorn was a fierce and caring mother.  She championed faith in God, education, and independence.  She encouraged her children to know their history, know their worth, and to pursue God’s purpose for their lives.

Dorn enjoyed socializing with friends and family and spreading joy through humor and laughter.  Her unwavering dedication to serving others and helping those in need was one of her defining qualities.  It was not uncommon to see her praying with perfect strangers in the community or serving those in need through her work at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. 

Over and above all, Dorn loved to have a good time.  She would have liked this time of reflection to be one more of celebration than sadness.  The world will dearly miss her love, infectious smile, and positivity.

Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 21st., with visiting 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.  Service starts at 12:00 pm at Corinthian Baptist Church, 3161 E Fifth Ave, Columbus, OH 43219. 
Repast held in the fellowship hall of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 pm  2956 Cleveland Ave Columbus, OH 43224.
