Dora Glenys Hewlett, age 99, passed away at her Columbus residence. At age 18 she learned to weld and loaded ammunition during the war, she was proud of her contribution as a “Rosie the Riveter”. She went on to work at Capital Manufacturing in West Jefferson and retired after 23 years of employment. Even at the age of 99, she enjoyed going to bingo to see her friends and was always willing to share an autographed picture from her coloring books. Preceded in death by parents Hudson and Minnie Varney; husband, Harmon Hewlett and youngest son, James Hewlett. Survived by sons: Charles Hewlett, Hudson Hewlett and Jack Hewlett; daughter, Monique (Richard) Lackey; daughter-in-law, Vicki Hewlett; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; special friend, Rick “Yahoo”.
