Bruce Homier

Bruce Richard Homier, age 69, a man that loved his family and friends, answered his call to eternity on Saturday, January 28, 2023 from home with his wife by his side. 

He was a 1971 graduate of Holgate High School and a 1975 graduate of BGSU. He then moved to Columbus Ohio where he met his wife and was married the following December 1977.

Bruce was a dedicated and loyal employee of Shaffer Distributing Co for 34 years, followed by working at The Ohio State University as a Redcoat for 3 years and volunteering at the Mid Ohio Food Bank for a few years. He also was a co-bingo czar for almost 6 years at St Mary Magdalene. Later in life he became a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and helped set up their bingo area. 

Bruce was an avid golfer and enjoyed his days as a Charter Member at Heritage Golf Club of Hilliard for over 25 years. He was proud of his tournament wins and his 3- holes in 1 during his golf years.  Bruce also enjoyed keeping a pristine yard, you knew it to if you ever tried crossing in the grass, and he was always happy to snow blow neighbors driveways and sidewalks. 

Bruce is survived by his wife Sherry, his daughter Audra (Brett) Claypoole, son Brendan (Amber)Homier. Grandchildren Hayden and Haylee Claypoole, Reece and Kent Homier.  His father Verl Homier, brothers Michael and David Homier, sister Patricia (Wayne) Barnes, and sister in law Joann Homier. Many family and special friends.

Preceded in death  by his mother Merna (Follett) Homier, brothers to John and Christopher Homier.

Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home of Hilliard 5471 Frazell Rd 4-7pm Wednesday, February 1,2023 , prayer service at 7pm . Funeral Mass 10:30am Thursday, February 2,2023 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3730 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Fr Michael Watson celebrant. Interment St Joseph Cemetery Lockbourne, OH. Luncheon at Church to follow. 

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Lewy Body Association (www.lbda.org) or Mt Carmel Hospice. 

The ones we love and lose are always connected by heartstrings into infinity. Rest In Peace my love.
