Beau Richardson Obituary

In the backseat of my van there is a stack of neatly folded blankets, shoes lined up on the floor, a tee shirt hastily cut off its owner taped and lying on the blankets, a tablet and switch now lying idle. The laughter that once filled the backseat just a few weeks ago is gone, there are no request for snacks, no bathroom breaks, no toys scattered, it is silent, a heartbreaking empty silence, see the boy/ my son that was so full of life that loved his mom, friends, cats and family is gone, his precious heart no longer beats.

Beau Bryant Richardson, had passed away, life leaving his body as a trauma team pounds on his chest, a stack of meds that could restart his heart lay used on a table , it has now been an hour I'm in trauma holding his hand begging him to come back, there was no answer it was, Friday, July 11th, 2025 the Doctor pronounced Beau's time of death at 2:32 pm, the Doctors and Nurses at The Ohio State Med Center stood still they bowed their heads and prayed Beau was definitely gone leaving the world with one less light.

Beau came into the world kicking and screaming at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with rosy pink skin and plump little cheeks   Beau was put in my arms . The date, Tuesday August 18,1998 he arrived by C-section at 5:38 pm weighing 7 pounds and 12 ounces, perfect in all ways.

Beau grew but he refused to talk, he would get angry and no one knew why, Beau would only eat certain things, play with certain toys. A diagnosis of Moderate Autism was put on my son, confused and scared. I read every book and study possible.

Beau entered school at age 3, Rise learning center was perfect for him there was so much love and compassion there but there were also rules , if they were broken it meant no sticker which meant you could lose out on a prize. Beau did eventually learn to talk thanks to Ms Kate, and he learned that getting in trouble meant a trip to Ms Charlene Pizza and sprite awaited him in her office but so did a talk for his behavior. Beau made it through middle school but his body played a cruel trick on Beau he started having seizures, not just little ones with only a few shivers or shakes Beau had Grand Mal Seizures, when these happened his body would twist he would shake, kick, and scream, it was like he was trying to escape them. Beau was put on  medicine
to help reduce the seizures, it worked for a while.

In 2015 I brought my family home to Ohio, Beau was so excited to attend Dublin Scioto High School, there were plenty of people like him (Autistic) Beau picked up his schedule and was so proud to be in regular classes not special classes where the teachers would treat him like a baby. Beau eventually went out for football and did run a few plays, he joined choir where he would get to sing parts in some of the music, Beau received the Celebration of Excellence Award, which were for students who went above and beyond an action to become super students. In 2018 Beau graduated with a regular diploma he had completed work and tests that a regular student would do. Beau walked proudly down the aisle dressed in his green robe, face beaming as he walked to the stage of the Schottenstein Center, thanking everyone and shaking their hands, as a Mom I was as proud of him as I was of his sisters and brother.

After Graduation our lives took a bad turn, Beau was having more seizures, we lost our home, we lost our family, this took a toll on Beau, for the past 4 years  Me and Beau lived in our van, I was able to take Beau to work, Beau made lots of friends, and some very kind people ( Tami, Linda and Donericks Pub) helped get us back on our feet. To help Beau we would stay in different hotels, Beau loved to explore them, we visited the fair, went out to dinner on holidays, visited our friends Annette and Jaime quite often, Beau and my cat boys would stay at her house when I was sick, Jaime would take Beau swimming and to the dollar store.

Beau has people who love him and will miss him, Beau was preceded in death by his dad William Richardson, his grandparents Bill and Ilene Richardson and James Given, and Rosemary Given. Beau is also preceded in death by his Aunt (mouse) Miriam  and Uncle Chris whom he loved to visit.

Beau is survived by mom Star Given Richardson, sisters Ashley (David) Twedell,  Mackenzie (Evan) Smith,  Piper (Danny) Jones,  brothers Bryce Richardson and Griffin Richardson, Beau is also survived by 2 nephews, Theo and Jules Jones. Beau is survived by Aunts Theresa Given, and Aunt Marcia, and Uncle Michael. Beau is survived by many cousins, he is also survived by friends Jaime and Annette Schockman, Katie and Rob, Jake Vassiloff, and Jerry Grimmett.

Beau will be missed, he is loved so much, as a Mom I would have traded my life for his, I would have taken all his pain and carried it for him, I wished that I could have given him a home, I actually begged landlords to rent to me. Even though Beau's life consisted of his tablet, and his switch he lived life, and he loved life, he loved our nightly movie night, he loved picking out our nightly dinner, going to the gym, and walking. in the woods. Before he died he said "Mom I will always protect you and be your muscle." I should have done more, I feel like I didn't protect him enough.

Beau's funeral and  birthday party will be held on Wednesday August 6 2025 at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd, showing will be from 4 to 6pm, a short service will be held at 6pm, followed by a party for Beau, if possible please bring a small Pokemon to send with him for his cremation, I know the party is odd but Beau would definitely want that.
