Barron Rutledge, age 78, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2020. Born March 13, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to Robert, Sr. and Lela Rutledge. Barron was a member of Love Zion Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Central High School in Columbus. Barron was a Vietnam era veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his military service he found employment with Ohio Bell. He was a phone technician for 17 years. Barron also worked several years for the Defense Supply Center Columbus. He was an avid bowler, bowling for many years at Amos Lanes. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sr. and brother, J. Benson Rutledge. He is survived by his mother, Lela; wife, Barbara; children, Benson (Marsha) Rutledge, Brock (Rachel) Rutledge and Barron (Anne) Rutledge; grandchildren, Derek, Kendra, Bryan, Brock Jr., Bailey, Bryson, Bella, Miles, Owen and Evelyn; sisters, Nonie Cradle, Shirley (Nate) Williams and Merlin Rutledge; brothers, Robert Rutledge and Clifford Rutledge as well as numerous other family and friends. Friends will be received at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Tuesday, October 20, 2020, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Graveside service and entombment will follow at 1:00 PM at Sunset Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery as there will be no precessional.
