Andrew Lucas

Andrew Lucas, age 56, passed away at home on July 23, 2025. Andy was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and lifelong public servant.

A graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School, ‘88, Andy proudly served in the 447th Infantry of the United States Army. Then he continued his life of service as a Firefighter and EMT before joining the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout over 29 years of service, Deputy “Flash” Lucas received numerous accolades, including Deputy of the Year award, a testament to his courage, integrity, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. He was also an active member of West Gate Masonic Lodge #623, and the Aladdin Shrine.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Craven-Lucas, and children, Jerry, Alexis, and RJ Lucas; his father, Harry (LouAnn) Lucas; sisters, Mary (Bill) Yarbrough and Sharon (Chad) LeMay. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lucas.

Known for his kindness, loyalty, and devotion to others, Andy lived a life rooted in family and service.

Family will welcome friends from 4pm to 7pm, with the FOP and Masonic Services at 7pm, on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025, at Jerry Spears Funeral Home 5471 Frazell Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026, (614) 927-2470, where his funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. Andy will then be laid to rest following the ceremony at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway Ohio.
