David Sherman

David C. Sherman, age 94, passed away on February 21, 2017. The youngest of 8 children to the late Steven and Daisy Sherman, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Ruth. Retired from Columbia Gas after 36 years of service. Member Eastgate Lodge #783, F&AM. Played softball in his younger years and was an avid golfer. He loved to work in his yard and have a garden. Survived by: Daughter: Carol (Roger) Jewell. Son: Mike (Patty) Sherman. Grandchildren: Roger (Lori) Jewell, Amy (Mark) Ortegon, Utah, and Steve (Stephanie) Sherman. 6 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 W. Broad St., Thursday, 5-8 PM where service will be held 1:00 PM Friday. Entombment Greenlawn Cemetery. Dave was a wonderful father. We will miss him very much. We could always count on him. May he rest in peace.
