Mary McGinty Obituary

Mary McGinty, age 93, born in Scotland on December 24, 1927, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother. She attended Veritas Community Church and was a committed follower of Christ. Mary retired from Mount Carmel Hospital. She was an avid reader, loved to walk and spend time with her family over a wee cup of tea. We will miss her sharp wit and fascinating storytelling. Preceded in death by, husband, Thomas McGinty; son, Thomas McGinty; son in law, Donald Higgins; 1 brother and 3 sisters. Survived by, daughter, Helen Higgins; grandchildren, Shaun (Neel) Higgins, Sarah (Paul) Batchelder, Kyle (Meredith) Higgins, Shannon (Chip) Boster and Ryan (Rachel) McGinty; daughter in law, Cj McGinty; 6 great-grandchildren. Special friend, Butch Eubanks and numerous other family and friends. The family is planning a Celebration of Life service at Veritas Community Church 345 E. 2nd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201 on Saturday, March 6th at 11:00 am. Masks are required for all attendees. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/), a charity she supported over many years. Arrangements completed at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 W. Broad St.
