Mary Bricker-Quickel

Mary "Eileen" Bricker-Quickel, age 92, went to heaven on June 18, 2022. Eileen was born in Middletown, Ohio on February 21, 1930, the seventh of the eight children of Joseph and Ellen Potter Flynn. At the age of 18, Eileen joined the Sisters of St. Joseph until 1973. She later became a teacher at Highland Elementary School in Columbus. In 1975 Eileen married John Bricker until his death in 1989. Through her work at Highland, she met her second Roland Quickel, and the two married in 1996. She praised both husbands for having treated her "like a queen".
Mary Eileen was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church from 2002 until her death, where she attended daily Mass, assisted in the school, and was blessed with many friendships. She found the people of the St. Cecilia community amazing in their love and care for her.
Eileen was preceded in death by her sisters Betty (Eugene) Smith, Josephine (Bill) Davis, Nora (Bill) Netherly, and by her brothers Jack (Hilda) Flynn, Don (Katherine) Flynn, Frank Flynn, and Tom (Marge) Flynn.
Eileen was grateful to God for all He had done for her and for all the wonderful people he put into her life. May she rest in eternal peace with the Lord she loved so much.
Friends may visit with the family at Saint Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Rd, Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 10:30 - 11:30 AM where Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM. Father Nic Ventura, Celebrant. Arrangements have been completed by JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME of HILLIARD, 5471 Frazell Rd. Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Cecilia Catholic Church.
