John Steiner Obituary

John M. Steiner, age 96, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at National Church Residences Lincoln Village. He was born to the late Gertrude and John Steiner of Columbus, Ohio. He was married to Bettie Eckert Steiner for 53 years before her death May 20, 2008. His best friend, Edward A. Schmidt, passed away on August 25, 2014. Johnny was a proud graduate of West High School. He was employed by Lazarus, downtown location. He worked in Lighting and Mirrors, retiring after 35 years of service in 1980.

Left to walk the earth without him are good friends, JoAnn and Bob Haydocy. Nieces and nephews, David Eckert (Brandy Eckert & Amber Gregg), Don (Sandy) Eckert (Craig Eckert & Shawn Eckert), Wayne (Laura) Eckert (Danielle Eckert & Shawn Eckert), Rodger (Debbie) Eckert (Brian Eckert & Nicole Duncan), Sheryl (Willie) Carter (Christopher Eckert & Maria Cognetti), Lorna (Zoran) Ilic (Adrian Ilic & Tera Ilic).

Special thanks to National Church Residences, Lincoln Lodge, Staff and Hospice, Mary in dietary and her deceased daughter, Tracy. Wayne and Laura Eckert for all the supplies Johnny needed to be happy and content.

Johnny requested no viewing and no flowers. He will have a simple graveside service at Green Lawn Cemetery, August 10, 2022, at 11:30. Arrangements have been completed with JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St.
