Janette N Casey

Janette Nadine Casey (Fisher), age 67 passed away peacefully Oct 28, 2023, due to complications from congestive heart failure. She was born Oct. 12, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to James Edward Lee Sr. and Alvenia Alice (Love) Casey.

Janette enjoyed showing her care for others. She lived for sewing, quilting, and other crafts. Raggedy Anne's and Andie's were her favorites. Her hands were rarely still. For many years Janette worked as an artist at the Arc Community Art Program in Columbus. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Janette is survived by her spiritual partner Steve Fisher, sister Christine Ella Mae (Casey) Blake; her three daughters Kelley Nadine Casey, Jeanette Nadine Streets, and Mary Ann (Streets) Roberts; grandchildren, Janette Hoda Ahmed, Jessica Price, Cosondra Mahoney, Katlynn Mahoney, Jennifer Mahoney, Michaela Canfield-Ellis, and Shannon Mahoney Jr.  Nieces Angela Dale, Lisa Cain, Linda Coy, Alicia Buzzard, Vikki James and nephew James Trisler. Including many great nieces and nephews.  All she loved deeply. Janette is preceeded in death by her parents James and Alvenia Casey, Uncle Carl (Sonny) Wesley Love, brothers James Casey Jr., Jesse Casey, John (J.W.) Casey and great-niece Bridget.      

Friends and family may call Wednesday, November 1 from 4-7pm at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 West Broad St. Additionally, please join us celebrating her life Friday morning November 3, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, 1000 Greenlawn Ave. Columbus. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arc Industries.
