Elsie Miller-Stuewe

Elsie L. Miller-Stuewe, age 99, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at her residence. She was born to the late Hugh C. Hughes and Effie (Drake) Hughes on May 12, 1925 in Shelby County, Galena, Ohio. Elsie was greatly loved by all her family and friends. She loved reading, bowling and bingo. She loved football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and even had an Ohio State outfit she wore whenever there was a football game on television. Even though she was almost totally deaf and blind, she never let it get her down. Mom always said that every morning when she woke up she thanked God for another day. She will be missed.  Also preceded in death by, husbands, Roy Adams, Ned Miller and William Stuewe, children, Ned (Donna) Miller II and Dana (Lori) Miller, brothers and sisters, Hugh "Carl" (Bernice) Hughes Jr., Willis "Zeke" (Teresa) Hughes,  Harry (Emogene) Hughes, Gertrude Hughes (Al) Rorabaugh, Nettie "Lou" (Tex) Hughes and Herbert (Dorothy) Hughes Sr. Survived by, children, Sally (Leonard) Scowden, Charmaine (Steve) Stewart and Roberta (John) Hughes, step children, Laurie (Wayne) Williams, Janet (Richie) Schott and Donna Stuewe-Simmons, brothers and sisters, Jesse (Erika) Hughes, Lawrence (Diane) Hughes and Elizabeth (Doyle) Hughes, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends. Graveside service and interment, 1:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Sunset Cemetery. Arrangements have been completed with JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to The American Cancer Society, in her name.
