Elizabeth Rodgers was born April 5, 1951, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family members on July 31, 2022. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was outgoing, fearless, and passionate about family and friends. She was born in Columbus, Ohio and spent her early years in Barnesville, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia. She graduated with an Associate Degree from Columbus Business University. She was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Church in Columbus, Ohio and taught in their Parish School of Religion for many years. She worked at St. Peter’s Church in the office and they became her second family. She referred to herself as an “excellent” driver and would lead us in sight-seeing tours for the Christmas lights. She loved haunted houses and scary movies. She might show up for things a bit late but within 30 seconds she would know everyone’s name and birthday. She would remember you with beautiful greeting cards for every occasion and the envelopes were probably filled with decorative stickers. Elizabeth was a dog lover from the time she was a little girl. At five she found a dog under her wagon and told her mom that it was HER dog. She even named one of her baby dolls, Fritz after a dog in the neighborhood. She was an Avon lady for years and we found her collection of Avon colorful watches.
Even though missing you will hurt, we will always think of you with joy because of the light you brought to our lives.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, John and Audre Murray and her brothers, John, and Michael; and son-in-law, George Oldham. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Mason; her daughter, Colleen Oldham; her stepdaughters, Stacey Barga and Gena Delgarn; her stepson, Todd (Stacie)Rodgers; her sister, Kathleen (John) Clark; her grandchildren, Patrick, Anna, Jason, Emily, Alexandria, James, RJ, Jasmine and Sierra; mother-in-law, Susie Rodgers; sisters-in law, Barbara Rodgers and Janis Murray; brothers-in-law, Rodney Rodgers and Curtis (Joy) Rodgers, and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
