Thomas Micheal Whyte

Thomas Micheal Whyte, age 72, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Born October 8, 1947, to the late Meade A. and Carmen R. (Tracey) Whyte.

A graduate of Nelsonville High School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a Vietnam veteran. married Darlene Frankhart on November 6, 1971, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Tiffin.

Preceded in death by  his parents; a daughter, Shannon Marie Whyte; sister, Margie Whyte; brother-in-law, Ernest F. (Wig) Hill; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David N. and Arlene B. (Boff) Frankhart; and stepfather-in-law, Thomas S. Frankhart.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Lesley M. (Tom) McConnell; a son, Andrew N. (Amy) Whyte; five grandchildren: Shannen, Sean, Ben, and Bailey McConnell, and Caleb Michael Whyte; a sister, Joan (Whyte) Hill; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Irene (Peter) Bellex and Ann (Patrick) Hartenstein; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Worked at Motorist Mutual Insurance, Federated Department Stores, and SMD Wynne Corp. Member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.

There will be a gathering of friends at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 473 S. Roys Ave. Monday, 9:30-10:30am, where Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am, Father Brett Garland, Celebrant. Graveside service and inurnment 12pm Monday at Sunset Cemetery. There will be no procession to the cemetery. Arrangements completed by JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 2693 West Broad St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Holy Family Soup Kitchen, Mid-Ohio Foodbank, or the St. Mary Magdalene Food Pantry.
