Richard Lee Hanshaw

Richard Lee Hanshaw aka Animal, age 59, passed away Thursday, January 18 at Kobacker House. He was a great drummer, bass player and singer. He was with many bands, including Stagecoach, South Texas Coach, Wild Eagle, Silver, Silver Eagle, Outlaw Resurrection and Hired Guns. He also opened for Hank Williams Jr. Preceded in death by: mother, Dixie Pickett Bush (Myers), father, Junior Hanshaw and step-father, Harvey Pickett. Survived by wife, Denise; children: Rick, Brandy, Tara, Caleb and Devon; step-children: Kayla (Raymond) and Alandra ; several grandchildren; sister, Virginia McElhinny; brothers: Steve Pickett, Dwayne Pickett and Howard Pickett; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins. Rick was loved by so many people. He never met a stranger. Arrangements completed at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Crematory, 2693 West Broad St.
