Margaret Kirk Obituary

Margaret Ada Kirk, age 78 of Whitehall, OH passed away peacefully on April 20, 2019 after a short courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 7, 1940 in Powhatan Point, OH, the daughter of the late Josephine Florence Richmond and Gilbert Snyder Sr. She leaves behind, her loving husband of 53 years, Russell Kirk & her nephews whom she raised, Terry “Andrew” Richmond (Miranda) of Lewis Center, OH and Calvin “CJ” Richmond (Amy) of Whitehall, OH. Margaret was a homemaker most of her life. She loved her family dearly and had daily phone conversations with several of them. She also liked to collect photos of her loved ones and owned several shelves full of photo albums, which were her prized possessions. In her younger years, Margaret was an avid bowler & belonged to a local bowling league. Margaret was the oldest of her siblings which include: a brother, Gilbert Snyder Jr. (Janie) of Malvern, OH, a sister Hilda Dunn of New Freeport PA, a brother, Walter Hunt (Pam) of Aleppo, PA, a sister, Sue Pierce (Russell), of New Freeport PA, a sister, June Mackey of Hundred, WV, a sister, Patty Briggs of Cameron, WV, a sister Georgia Swager of Carmichaels, PA , a brother, Donald “Donnie” Richmond (Cindy) of Mannington WV & one brother that preceded her in death, Terry “Ted” Richmond of Aleppo PA. In addition, she is survived by a sister in law, Sue King, a sister in law, Sherry Kirk (the late William Kirk), a brother in law, Larry Kirk, and several beloved nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents & brother, she is preceded in death by her sister in laws, Diane Klamfoth and Charlotte Devore, a brother in law John Dean Briggs, her mother & father in law, Emery & Lydia Kirk, a nephew Michael Hunt, & a great niece, Hayley Huggins . Friends may call Tuesday, April 23 from 5-8pm Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 W. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43204. Graveside service will be held 10:30am on Wednesday, April 24 at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad St Galloway, OH 43119.
