M. Lee Shaffer Obituary

M. Lee Shaffer, age 91, went home to be with his Lord Jesus, January 24, 2018, surrounded by his daughters. Lee served in the US Navy during WWII, 1943-1946. He retired from Ohio Bell Telephone (AT&T) after 35 years. He then attended seminary and became an Ordained Minister of the Church of God where he served in churches in Ohio and Pennsylvania for more than 35 years. He enjoyed being a pilot and a flight instructor and was blessed to have participated in the Honor Flight in 2010. Preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 73 years, Betty, parents, Carl and Annabel Shaffer, brother, William Shaffer, sister, Mary Alice Belcher. Survived by, daughters, Linda (Thurman) Spaulding, Joyce (Paul) Ratliff and Rebecca (Steve) McCallister. 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Numerous other family and many friends. Friends may call at JERRY SPEARS FUNERAL HOME, 2693 W. Broad St., Sunday 2-5 PM where service will be held 1:00 PM Monday. Interment Alton Cemetery.
