Donald "Moe" Knapp

Donald Eugene "Moe" Knapp, age 89, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Mt Carmel East. Retired from C&O Railroad after 47 years. Veteran US Army, serving in WWII. Former Past Master Whitehall Lodge #761, F&AM, then moving onto a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He earned a meritorious service award for his 65 years of service. Member Moose Lodge #11, American Legion #532 and VFW #495. Moe was an avid golfer, playing for many years at Bolton Field Golf Course. He was also a 20 year volunteer at Mt Carmel Hospital. Preceded in death by: Wife: Gloria Knapp. Parents: Edgar and Ruby Knapp. Survived by: Son: Mike (Carole) Crawford. Daughter: Diane (Mike) Canfield. Grandchildren: Michael Crawford, Kevin (Kat) Crawford, Jason (Sarah) Canfield and Angie Crawford. Great grandchildren: Taylor Crawford, Brooke Crawford, Rylie Crawford, Hunter Canfield and Scarlette Crawford. Brother in law: Kenneth (Brenda) Bethea. Numerous other family and friends Masonic Service will be observed 7:30 P.M.. Friday evening. Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 W. Broad St.,  Friday, 5-8 PM where service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday. Pastor Tim Lee officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
