Roger Huth

Roger D. Huth, age 67, a fun loving and quick witted man who loved his family, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his residence. He was a longtime member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church as well as the parish Knights of Columbus, #5899. He was instrumental in starting both the parish festival and the schools hot lunch programs and once earned volunteer of the year for his work at the school. Roger coached many of the youth sports teams with WYAA and also served as the athletic director at the St. Cecilia. He worked 15 years with Frisch's before going on to retire from the Department of Defense, after 25 years, earning numerous awards there. He and his wife both volunteered for Mt. Carmel Hospice. He was a big Ohio State and Cincinnati Reds fan, an avid golfer and previously accomplished swimmer and diver. Preceded in death by: Parents: James and Mary Huth. Brother: James Huth. Survived by: Loving wife of 43 years: Dannette. Children: Jennifer (Shane) Herman and Jim (Jessica) Huth. Grandchildren: Jordan and Jack. Sister: Barbara (Ray) Sohnlein. Brothers: Jerry Huth, Tim (Charmaine) Huth, Chris (Mary Lou) Huth and Tracy (Angie) Huth. Sisters in law: Donna Beddingfield, Denise (Kevin) Tracy, Debbie Guzzo and Dale Silver. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. There will be a gathering of friends Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 10-11 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 434 Norton Rd., where Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Father Raymond Larussa, Celebrant. There will be a reception held in the Church Hall immediately following the Mass. Arrangements completed at Jerry Spears Funeral Home with Crematory, 2693 W. Broad St.
