Norman J Andrews Jr.

Norman J. Andrews, Jr. was born on November 17, 1968 in Harvey, Illinois to the union of Norman and Sharon (Hemphill) Andrews. Norman graduated from Bloom Trail High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard Services and served dutifully for 10 years on the East Coast before moving to Ohio. He met the mother of his children,  Deanna Andrews (Steele). Together they had 2 children, Devin and Lauran. His children meant everything to him, they were the love of his life. He was looking forward to becoming a new grandfather soon. Norman was gainfully employed at Tier One in Marysville, Ohio for the last 2 years. He previously worked at COTA from 1997-2015. He served in the Coast Guard for 10 years. He was a special and dedicated employee who took pride in everything he did. He had a passion for body building and competed in numerous competitions. In 2002, he won 1st Place in the Super Heavy Division of the NPC Mike Francois Classic. Norman was preceded in death by his younger brother, Anthony Jene. On Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:05 p.m., the sweet and gentle soul of Norman J. Andrews, Jr. was called home to rest. Norman leaves to cherish his memory, his children: Devin and Lauran of Columbus, Ohio; his parents: Norman and Sharon Andrews of Monee, Illinois, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends may call at Jerry Spears Funeral Home, 2693 West Broad St. from 4-7pm Wednesday, where service will be held at 7pm Wednesday.
